MATHEMATICS

My love for mathematics began in elementary school, when I was first introduced to Olympiad problems. What started as simple curiosity quickly grew into a lasting passion: I was drawn to the elegance of numbers, the creativity required in problem solving, and the thrill of unlocking questions that once seemed impossible. I carried this passion into high school, where Olympiad math not only deepened my skills but also connected me with inspiring teachers and lifelong friends.

But along this journey, I inevitably began to ask myself: what can I do with mathematics? Looking beyond competition problems, I discovered a whole new world – one where formulas and equations transform into music, shape sports strategies, and power artificial intelligence. I came to realize that mathematics is not confined to textbooks, it permeates the patterns and decisions of everyday life.

As my journey in mathematics expanded, I founded MAPP to share with others the elegance of the subject and its surprising connections to music, art, and science. Beyond outreach, I have engaged in research and authored papers in both pure and applied mathematics, experiences that taught me to approach problems with rigor while always searching for real-world meaning. Check out here to see where math has led me.

Mathematics Olympiad

The Mathematical Olympiad team is where my friends and I honed not only our problem-solving skills, but also resilience, abstract thinking, and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly to others. The hours we spent wrestling with abstract concepts and our late-night discussions over difficult problems have without a doubt been the best fuel for my growth as a mathematician.

MAPP- Project on Applied Mathematics

Driven by the desire to make mathematics more relatable and accessible, my fellow enthusiasts and I founded MAPP – Project in Applied Math, an initiative that introduces students in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to the many ways math connects with everyday life.

Reseach in Mathematics

Research has allowed me to experience mathematics beyond problem-solving, diving into both its abstract foundations and its unexpected applications. I have explored pure math, where the focus lies in theory and rigor, as well as applied projects that connect mathematics to fields like music, finance, and artificial intelligence. These experiences have taught me not only precision and persistence, but also the joy of discovering how mathematical ideas can shape the way we understand the world.

Below you’ll find several studies on mathematics and its diverse applications in areas such as music and finance. I hope you enjoy exploring them, and I would be grateful for any feedback or comments you may wish to share.

PIMA Summer Camp

In the summer of 2025, I was selected as one of 24 students nationwide to attend the PiMA 2025 Summer Camp. With the theme “Mathematics in Generative Models,” we explored the algorithms behind popular generative models and presented our findings to peers. The camp also gave me the chance to connect with lecturers, mentors, and fellow students who share my passion, making it a week of deep learning, inspiration, and collaboration.
